DANTES, VETERANS, and MONTGOMERY BILL

Southwest University’s Programs are approved to provide for payment of Educational Assistance benefits to active military members through the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Educational Support, DANTES, and for veterans under the programs administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

DANTES

Southwest University is listed in the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) Catalog of Nationally Accredited Distance Learning Programs. You will find this catalog at every base education office. An Education Services Officer can advise students on the eligibility of programs.

DANTES processes Tuition Assistance for active duty persons:
Navy        Marine Corps        Army        Active Guard Reservists
Army National Guard (Military and Civilian Personnel)
Air Force Reserve Command        U.S. Army Reserve

A student requesting Tuition Assistance must have a DANTES Form #1562131 signed by his/her Educational Services Specialists or Commanding Officer certifying his/her eligibility.

TUITION AND FEES

STUDENTS RECEIVING TUITION BENEFITS

Per Course: $250 per semester hour. (Each course credits 3 semester hours)

Students are responsible for the Application, one-time Registration, and Graduation fees.

Textbooks and instructional material are provided through Southwest University’s Book Grant.

If a student withdraws, the student must submit payment for the cost of the textbook.

Postage and handling costs are the responsibility of the student. Postage costs vary according to the student’s geographical location.
