Military Tuition Assistance (TA)

Tuition assistance (TA) is a benefit paid to eligible
members of the Armed Forces. Congress has given each service the ability to pay eligible active-duty personnel
100 percent of tuition with a set cap.

         $   250 per semester hour
         $4,500 per fiscal year

Also, active duty members may use the MGIB “top-up” in addition to their service provided tuition assistance.

TA is not a loan. Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process and restrictions. It is usual that the funds are paid directly to the University by the individual services.

A student requesting Tuition Assistance must have an application for benefits signed by his/her Educational Services Specialist or Commanding Officer certifying his/her eligibility. A TA approved form is needed for each course to be completed.
